Welcome to A Knack for Knickers! For this class The International Bra Sewing Bee team is using the Lyla pattern by Evie La Luve for the gals who love their thongs. Start with ultra-soft bamboo jersey or cozy cotton Lycra if you like print panties. If print isn't your thing, choose our light-as-a-feather Microlycra Air. Next, decide if you want to embelish your undies with dye-to-match lace or dotted stretch mesh. Lastly, let us know if you want foldover elastic, or something else! This project is for all of you who want to walk the line between comfy and sexy, and it's a great scrap buster!
We are offering our undie kits in 2 sizes, Larger and Smaller. Typically, our Smaller kit works easily for women up to a size Large, and the Larger kit can do any size. Many gals who are smaller in size purchase our Larger kits and get multiple pairs of undies to go with their bra. A size XL and I can get 3 pairs of briefs from a Larger kit with thoughtful pattern placement. Women who are a smaller size can often get 2-3 pairs of undies from a Smaller, depending on style. Some undies are very tiny! You can also upgrade to include matching thread, additional elastics, an absorbent crotch or extra cotton jersey (useful for making more pairs of undies).
Please note that some of the pictures here are to show the different construction options, and not all reflect fabric choices that are available at this time. Knack for Knickers Lyla Thong Kits will come with 1 yard waistband and 2 yards leg elastic for the standard smaller, or 2 yards waist and 4 yards leg for the larger, which is slightly different than our typical offering. Both sizes may opt for double elastic.
