We're almost out of gear ties, so newer fitting band kits will have floral wire rather than a gear tie.
The best place to start with perfecting the fit of your bra is with the band. It seems like the band would be pretty straightforward, but you'll find out how much there is to know about the fit of the band in the 2024 International Bra Sewing Bee. This kit gives you materials to construct two fitting bands so that you can perfect your fit. You might have fabrics floating around your sewing space, so you can just pick up the findings to make sure that you have what you need. Add a spool of Water Soluble thread and you can do even more!
We're including a "Gear Tie" in the full kit so that you can do a breast root trace. Part of making a fitting band that fits is to understand your breast root. This is a cost effective way to do that, and, as a bonus, can also be used to find your crotch curve if you sew your own pants, or if you have a hard time getting undies to fit.
