Our Lace Bra Kits take the guesswork out of bra building by putting together everything you'll need to make a beautiful bra using your own pattern. If you need a pattern, we have a great selection on our Patterns Page, both paper and downloadable.

This kit speaks to the dreamers among us. There are 2 gorgeous elements to this lace -- the delicate and intricate embroidery along the edge and the overprinted tulle in a soft neutral with subtle pink petals floating across it. It's gorgeous! Our oh-so-talented Featured Artist Jennie from @annieandmyras used our beautiful Taupe Stretch Silk Satin as the base for her bra, and she popped it with She Shed elastics. I absolutely love it, and hope that you do too! She used the cups from her Vivien pattern V1 and a Grace bra frame and adapted it for a longline and a darted cup. Isn't it a feast for the eyes?!? She has a tutorial on how to do this mashup in her Instagram Highlights. She used her leftover fabric and an extra findings kit to also make an Aries bra (from Gravity by Grandy). Finally, look at the darling Carley French Knickers from Michelle's Armoire and the Montgomery Briefs from Orange Lingerie! What a stunning set!

This kit has a variety of options with it. First, you can choose our Stretch Silk Satin as your base fabric, or you can use one of our other great base fabric materials. We think the Taupe is the best color for the silk, but you can also choose the French Vanilla. By default, you'll receive the Taupe if you order the silk, but can leave us a note to change it up. If you choose one of our dye to match base fabrics, we like Taupe, She Shed and Cocoa Butter. I wouldn't go with She Shed on the fabrics if you like the overprinting on the lace. A contrasting fabric will work better to show off this beautiful feature.

Sewing Notes:
The strength of our microduoplex fabric, which makes it so wonderful for bras, also makes it hard to puncture with needles and pins. This is true with most duoplex fabrics. Use either fine silk pins or Wonder Clips to pin (I find Wonder Clips work best), and a Microtex 80/12 needle with a smooth thread like Superior Threads So Fine or Mettler Metrosene to make it easy to sew. In my testing, the So Fine thread and Microtex 80/12 won the challenge of the nicest stitch on microduoplex, and as long as my presser foot completely covered the seam allowance, I found it just as easy to sew as quilting cotton. I moved the needle to the right to set my seam allowance at 1/4" since my presser foot is a bit wide. I find it works well to saturate the lace with liquid starch and let it dry before laying out your pattern pieces and cutting your fabric. This stiffens the lace until you wash it and the lace has enough body to behave well in the sewing process.
We offer all these pins, clips, needles and thread here on our site.
