Emerald Erin recently introduced a darling pattern for a beautiful, quick and easy thong. We're adding a bit of innovation to this pattern (or any similar thong pattern) by adding fusible elastic and a bit of fun by adding some of our new Ultra Wide Lingerie Elastic. We've set up a couple of options for you to choose from, but feel free to change this up as you wish. Just leave us lots of notes :).
Our first option is with our delicious Microlycra, which is smooth and liquid, and a perfect match for this project. You can choose your waistband lace -- the best size is right around 2". We'll dye it all up to match. I wish we could send you this sweet pink and white lace, but it has sold out.
The second option is with our oh-so-soft bamboo jersey. You can find that kit here.
You will need to make some adjustments to your thong pattern to use the Fusible Elastic. Add 3/8" to each edge you plan to finish with the elastic. I have an Instagram Live showing how to best use the materials together, and I'll be adding a video to my YouTube channel soon.
These undies are super fabric-efficient. I can get 3 pairs of size Medium undies out of a kit cut (fat quarter) of fabric. We're adding extra elastic, which means that most can get at least 2 pairs from their kit.
A Thursday Thong Undie Kit contains:
- a Kit Cut of Microlycra
- 2 1/2 yards of narrow stretch lace or Ultra Wide Lingerie Elastic
- 4 yards of 3/8" Fusible Elastic
- 9" x 9" of white cotton jersey
